House of Whispering Arches
Title: House of Whispering Arches
Location: Koilkuntla, Andhra Pradesh.
The 'House of Whispering Arches' is a villa that harmoniously blends Spanish architectural elegance with South Indian traditional elements. The design draws inspiration from classic Spanish villas, known for their earthy textures, graceful arches, and terracotta roofs, while incorporating cultural nuances from South India, creating a space that is both rooted in heritage and modern in functionality. The facade showcases a smooth off-white plaster finish, adorned with arches that frame windows and entrances. The terracotta-tiled roof and the use of dark wood for detailing add to the home’s warm, inviting ambiance. Key design features include a central courtyard, typical of traditional South Indian homes, which invites natural light and airflow throughout the space. The villa’s arched windows and doorways serve as a focal point, symbolizing the connection between nature and living spaces. The rooftop terrace offers a panoramic view, while interiors are designed with open-plan living, integrating artisanal woodworks. The villa’s design prioritizes passive cooling techniques, such as deep verandas, high ceilings and courtyard with provision for stack effect, reducing energy consumption. House of Whispering Arches is a thoughtful fusion of two architectural traditions, offering a serene, timeless sanctuary.
